secure emailContact That Protects Your Information
Standard email shouldn’t be used to exchange private information like social security numbers, account numbers and financial statements because confidentiality can’t be guaranteed. At DFCU, we protect your personal information by partnering with Microsoft to send encrypted email.
Committed to Your Privacy
Regular email isn’t a private conversation; it can travel across multiple servers on its way to your inbox, and at any point along that path, it can be intercepted and read. Encrypting a message means scrambling its contents so only the intended recipient – you – can unlock and read it.
How do I open an encrypted email from DFCU?
-
Open the email. It will arrive in your regular inbox, just like any other email from us; it just won’t display the sensitive content directly.
-
Click “Read the message.” This opens a secure sign-in page.
-
Sign in with a one-time passcode. We’ll send a temporary passcode to your email address. It’s valid for 15 minutes, so have your inbox open and ready.
-
View your message and any attachments. Once you’re signed in, the full message opens instantly and stays private the entire time.
